The following situations are illustrative examples, not accounts of jobs performed by this company. They show which details can change a roadside request and what a driver can ask before arranging help.
A family with a disabled vehicle
If a vehicle stops during a family trip, first assess the location. A safe parking lot is different from a narrow interstate shoulder. Call 911 if anyone is injured or in immediate danger. Give dispatch the location, number of occupants and vehicle details. Ask how passengers will travel; do not assume a tow truck can seat everyone.
A flat tire without a usable spare
A driver with a flat tire may not need a tow if there is a suitable spare and a safe place to change it. A missing, damaged or underinflated spare changes the plan. Tell dispatch what equipment the vehicle has and whether it is safe for anyone to work beside it. A tow to a tire shop may be the appropriate alternative.
A vehicle that is far from its destination
A longer trip needs a confirmed destination, receiving arrangements and pricing for the full distance. The towing provider should know the vehicle's condition before choosing equipment. Do not assume the tow ends at a repair shop owned by the towing company.
A vehicle stuck off the roadway
Describe the slope, surface and distance from an accessible road. Avoid attaching a rope to an unapproved part of the vehicle or repeatedly spinning the wheels. Recovery equipment and safe access must be assessed for the actual situation.
Questions that help dispatch plan
- Can the vehicle roll and steer?
- Are the keys available, and is the parking brake released?
- Is there a gate, garage or height restriction?
- Where should the vehicle be taken?
- What are the current ETA, equipment requirements and complete price?

For a disabled vehicle or a problem that cannot be handled safely, review towing service. Tell dispatch the pickup location, vehicle details and what happened so equipment and availability can be checked.
