A boat, ATV or RV needs transport arrangements specific to its design and condition. These examples explain what to ask an appropriate provider; they do not establish that a general towing company offers every specialty service.
Start with accurate dimensions and weight
Provide the make, model, approximate dimensions and manufacturer weight information when available. Explain cargo, modifications and damage. Equipment suitable for a passenger car cannot be assumed to suit a loaded trailer, motorhome or boat.
Boats and their trailers
Identify whether the boat is already on a roadworthy trailer. Trailer tires, bearings, coupling, lights and braking arrangements can affect transport. Ask a capable provider to assess the actual setup rather than assuming a standard car tow can move it.
ATVs and other recreational vehicles
Explain how the vehicle will be reached and whether it can roll. Attachment and support points must suit the design. Recovery from an off-road area is different from transport from an open parking lot, and may require a different specialist.
RVs and motorhomes
Give the vehicle type, dimensions, drivetrain and condition. Confirm manufacturer instructions and equipment capacity. A pickup in a campground or narrow driveway may need a different approach from a roadside motorhome.
Check both pickup and delivery
Mention slopes, gates, overhead clearance and room to turn. Confirm that the destination can receive the vehicle or trailer. Ask about authorization, complete pricing, current availability and how updates will be provided.
For standard vehicle transport, review towing information. Confirm specialist scope and suitable equipment separately for boats, ATVs or RVs.
